Hazardous waste is a waste with properties that make it potentially dangerous or harmful to Human health or the environment. Hazardous wastes can be liquids, solids, or contained gases. They can be the by-products of. Manufacturing processes, discarded used materials, or discarded unused commercial.

     What is Hazardous Waste Management?

Hazardous wastes can take the form of solids, liquids, sludges, or contained gases, and they are generated primarily by chemical production, manufacturing, and other industrial activities. They may cause damage during inadequate storage, transportation, treatment, or disposal operations.

     How is hazardous waste disposed of?

Hazardous wastes can be liquids, solids, gases, or sludges. They include commercial products, such as cleaning fluids or pesticides, and some by-products of manufacturing processes. Hazardous waste should not be dumped into a landfill like other waste.

     Safe disposal of hazardous waste:

For the waste which cannot be recycled/ reused, safe and environmentally sound disposal should be adopted depending upon waste category. Design and operation norms of disposal facilities should be strictly adhered to as per the guidelines framed by CPCB. Supervision of such facilities by concerned SPCB during construction stage is required to ensure quality of construction as per guidelines, including post closure monitoring.
